A Prayer for Nominating Committees
God of grace and wisdom,
Bestow those gifts upon us this night.
Grant us patience, as we wait for the work of your spirit.
Make us humble, that we may hear your voice louder than our own.
Make us quiet, as you say in a sacred whisper
the names of those you would have lead your church.
Most of all, O God, remind us
that the task before us is holy one.
A hard one.
A faithful one.
For we are members of the body of Christ
seeking to be your church in the world.
Amen.
